Dermaplaning for a brighter, refreshed complexion
Overview
Dermaplaning or oil planning (for sensitive clients), is a gentle skin resurfacing treatment designed to smooth and brighten your complexion by removing dead skin cells and fine facial hair (also called vellus hair or “peach fuzz”). Using a sterile scalpel, our trained licensed professionals carefully exfoliate the surface of your skin, revealing a fresh, glowing layer underneath. This non-invasive procedure enhances skin texture, promotes healthy cell turnover, and improves the effectiveness of your skincare products.
Why People Choose  This Treatment
Hydraplaning is a popular choice for those who want:
- A smoother, brighter complexion
- Improved skin texture and tone
- Reduced appearance of pigmentation and unevenness
- Temporary removal of fine facial hair for a silky feel
- A no-downtime, gentle exfoliation that works for most skin types
It’s especially great if you have sensitive skin or want to prepare your face for other treatments like chemical peels or facials. Unlike harsher exfoliating treatments, dermaplaning is safe and comfortable, with no redness or irritation for most people.

Most Commonly Asked Dermaplaning Questions
Is dermaplaning suitable for all skin types?
Dermaplaning works well for nearly all skin types, including sensitive skin. However, it’s not recommended for those with active acne (especially if you have more than 5 pustules or pimples), eczema, rosacea, sunburn, or certain skin conditions like warts or skin cancer. Your provider will assess your skin during the consultation to ensure it’s safe and right for you.
Does the hair grow back thicker or darker?
No, the fine facial hair removed during dermaplaning grows back at the same thickness and texture. The fresh, bright skin that’s revealed may make regrowth more noticeable, but the hair does not become thicker or darker.
How long does the treatment last and how often should I schedule it?
Each session takes about 15 to 30 minutes. Most clients benefit from treatments every 4 to 6 weeks, which aligns with the natural skin cell turnover and hair growth cycle.
