Before Treatment Recommendations
How to prepare for your upcoming laser hair removal treatment.
- Apply & Reapply sunscreen in the AM and throughout the day the days leading up to your treatment
- Do not wax or use hair removal creams while getting treatments for laser hair removal. Only shave.
- Avoid direct sun exposure 1-2 weeks prior to your service.
- Avoid chemical exfoliants such as retinol, lactic, glycolic, salicylic, and benzoyl peroxide 2 weeks prior to your service.
- Avoid exfoliating the week of your service
- Avoid antibiotics 1-2 weeks prior to your service
- Come in shaved the day of your treatment.
After-Treatment Recommendations
To help you get the best results and stay comfortable after your treatment, follow these care tips:
- Avoid hot tubs, saunas, hot yoga, intense workouts, and direct sunlight for at least 24 hours after your session
- Protect treated areas from sun exposure daily with a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher to prevent irritation and pigmentation changes
- Avoid waxing, plucking, or threading between sessions-shaving is allowed and encouraged to maintain skin smoothness
- Use gentle skincare products to soothe any mild redness or sensitivity if needed, and avoid harsh exfoliants or irritants
- Mild redness or tenderness is normal and usually resolves quickly within a few hours. If needed, apply ice or cold compresses.
